Fitness Boxing 2 released back in 2020, following the 2018/2019 release of its predecessor on the Nintendo Switch. The game provides a workout for players as they follow along with workouts centering around boxing movements like dodging and punching. While the game hasn’t exploded in popularity to the level of massive hit Wii Fit, it’s done well enough to warrant an expansion in the form of paid DLC, following Fitness Boxing 2’s free DLC celebrating its sales success.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise is set to receive three new paid DLC additions according to a new tweet from Nintendo. These will include new scenery and music to exercise with. The DLC includes EDM Workout, Rock Workout, and Nature Stages DLC. At this time, the pricing and release date for these releases have not been announced, nor has the developer given any details on potential new workouts to go alongside the music and stages.
While the motion controls of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons aren’t identical to that of the Wii, the game console has nonetheless seen a wide variety of exercise programs come to the platform, as with the Wii. The portable nature of the Nintendo Switch and its controllers makes it a good choice to bring with the player wherever they go, meaning fans can enjoy a quick workout whether they’re on a vacation or have a break at work. Ring Fit Adventure, in particular, exploded in popularity at launch, and both it and Fitness Boxing 2 landed at a good time for players who needed to get some exercise but were stuck at home due to the pandemic.
Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise isn’t the only continuation of the exercise series to be announced recently. Nintendo recently revealed a crossover game launching soon called Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. The iconic manga and anime’s combat-heavy emphasis should blend well with Fitness Boxing, giving players a chance to get fit while also enjoying a classic anime franchise. That game is set to launch in March of this year, so players don’t have to wait long for a fresh installment if they’re looking for a fresh boxing experience.
