The Ravens took control early, scored touchdowns on their first four drives and cruised to an easy 59-10 win over the Dolphins on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.
Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 17 of his 20 passes for 324 yards and five touchdowns in the victory. Backup Robert Griffin III added another score through the air, as well.
The Dolphins are clearly in rebuilding mode and could have a long season ahead.
Here are five crazy stats from the Ravens’ blowout win
— In his first NFL game, Marquise Brown finished with four receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns. In the process, he became the first player ever to pull in two touchdown catches of 40 or more yards in his debut.
— Baltimore led Miami 42-10 at the end of the second quarter. The 42 points were the most points the Ravens have ever scored in the first half.
— The Ravens put up 59 points against Miami and also scored 47 in Week 1 last season. They are the second team in league history to finish with 45 or more points in back-to-back season openers. The Raiders also accomplished the feat in 1967.
— The Dolphins had no answers for the Ravens’ offense, which racked up 640 yards of total offense. That’s the most by any team in its first game of the season since the Rams in 1951.
— Miami veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled Sunday, throwing for just 185 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He became the first player to ever throw a pass for eight different teams.
