Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is the ninth major installment released seven years after the original Five Nights at Freddy’s game. Due to some unforeseen delays after a promised April 2021 release, the developers released Security Breach: Fury’s Rage as compensation to waiting fans. Despite the setbacks, the game was released digitally on PC as well as Playstation 4 and 5 in December 2021. An update to fix several technical and bug problems was released in February. Though fans were grateful for the extra polish, Xbox players have been patiently waiting for more information regarding Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach’s release on any Xbox console.

Steel Wool Studios released an announcement via a blog post on its main website, highlighting how the company has positively changed over the past year. However, the biggest piece of news was that fans will finally be able to experience the Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach story on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on November 22. Cross-platforming has been a goal for the company for quite a while now, and after nearly a year since Security Breach’s release, Xbox players can now experience the latest addition to the highly-acclaimed horror series.
The cross-platform Xbox launch also comes in time for more players to experience the upcoming free Ruin DLC, which was announced via Steel Wool Studios’ official Twitter to release sometime in 2023. A development update was also provided in the latest blog post, stating the “team spent significant time in a rigorous pre-production process focusing on the ability to construct fun, stable gameplay.” So far, it has been reported that the process is “ahead of schedule” for a “major upcoming development milestone.” So, it’s safe to say that more Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach horror is well on its way to release this coming year.
Steel Wool Studios’ close communication with fans about the game’s initial gameplay quality has been appreciated, and it seems that the February update has taken care of most bugs and technical problems that made for a rough launch. Despite the early setbacks, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach’s gameplay has been praised by both fans and critics as an installment worthy of the franchise, highly praising the story and visuals. Now, fans can now look forward to the Ruin DLC currently in development and what new terrors it could possibly add to the game.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is available for PC, PS4 and PS5. Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions will launch on November 22.
