In the fall of 2013, during his junior season, he committed to Texas A&M. He backed off of that commitment a little more than two months ago and Texas and TCU tried to creep into the picture. But as of Wednesday, the drama is over.

Mack is a great example of how coach Kevin Sumlin is trying to turn things around on the defensive side of the ball. He’s a bowling ball when he gets in the offensive backfield and has wrecked plays for years for Gladewater (Texas) High School.

“I think it’s going to be great playing in the SEC and going against the best competition in the world,” Mack told Sporting News in a previous interview, when he was committed to the Aggies. “And I definitely want to help improve A&M. That’s my goal and to help them win a national championship.”

Mack (6-1/330) finished with an astounding 37 tackles for loss as a senior, following a junior season with 36. This year he also moonlighted as a short yardage back, rushing for 12 TDs. He is rated the No. 14 overall player in the nation by the 247Sports.com composite ranking, and the No. 2 player in Texas.
