Kaindoh is the nation’s No. 1 weakside defensive end and the No. 22 overall prospect in the Class of 2017, according to 247Sports. He made his announcement on Twitter Saturday.

The five-star stud from IMG Academy in Florida easily marks the biggest recruit thus far in Maryland’s 2017 class — its second-highest recruit is Cam Spence, the No. 12 defensive tackle and No. 185 recruit overall.
Kaindoh’s is also the biggest commitment of the D.J. Durkin era in Maryland, should he follow through with it. He is only the program’s fourth top-100 recruit since 2010, and only the third five-star recruit (offensive tackle Damian Prince, Class of 2014, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Class of 2012).
