Marvin Wilson, a 6-4, 329-pound defensive tackle out of Episcopal HS in Bellaire, Texas, picked Florida State on Wednesday on ESPN2’s broadcast of National Signing Day. He took his time opening up a backpack to pull out a Florida State hat and unzipped his sweater to show a Seminoles t-shirt. According to 247 Sports, LSU was the favorite to land Wilson, and he also held offers from Ohio State, Oklahoma and USF.

His family hoped to keep him close to home, but “it took a lot. My mom wanted me to be close, my brother loved LSU. They supported me to go wherever I wanted.”
Wilson is the highest-ranked recruit (No. 6) for Florida State since the Seminoles signed Mario Edwards (No. 1) in 2012. The Seminoles now secure their top five recruiting class with Wilson’s commitment.
