“I felt the most comfortable when I went down and felt it was a great school,” Wilkes said of UCLA, per ESPN.
Bruins coach Steve Alford’s 2017 recruiting class was ranked No. 4 in the country even before Wilkes’ commitment. Point guard Jaylen Hands (No. 31 on the ESPN 100), power forward Cody Riley (No. 45) and center Jalen Hill (No. 50) all previously committed, and so too has three-star shooting guard LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of UCLA freshman Lonzo Ball.
“Hopefully I can make a great impact for them coming in as a freshman,” Wilkes said. “And with the other players coming, we should be real good.”
