Garrett was a five-star recruit coming out of high school in 2014, according to 247Sports.com, but played in just three games last year. Injuries held him back, including a torn labrum that forced offseason surgery. He will reportedly transfer to an undisclosed school in the JUCO ranks.

“It set me back a lot,” Garrett said of that shoulder surgery during the spring via the Baton Rouge Advocate. “I missed a lot of time this summer just trying to get that right, making sure we protected it and everything.”

His departure leaves LSU with eight linebackers currently enrolled.
